Custom Men's Relaxed Stripe Panel Crew Neck Sweatshirt
A men's crew neck sweatshirt built around a horizontal contrast stripe panel. The panel crosses the chest and carries straight onto both sleeves, so the stripe reads as one continuous band rather than a printed chest graphic. Inside the band, a repeat embroidered wordmark runs across the front, which turns the stripe itself into the branding zone. The body is relaxed with dropped shoulders, and ribbed cuffs and a ribbed hem close the silhouette.
The reference build uses a 50% cotton / 50% polyester sweat knit with a soft hand feel and a clean, structured surface, shown in navy, light brown / taupe and sage green.
- Contrast stripe panel running across the chest and onto both sleeves
- Repeat embroidered wordmark inside the stripe band as the branding zone
- Relaxed fit with dropped shoulder for an easy, unconstructed line
- Ribbed crew neck, ribbed cuffs and ribbed hem
- Reference composition 50% cotton / 50% polyester with a soft hand feel

How this style is developed
Built to your tech pack
the buyer's tech pack defines stripe height, placement, colour blocking and branding method, with the existing relaxed crew block used as the starting pattern.
Start from the existing block
the stripe panel construction can be re-proportioned into a family of styles, including a single broad stripe, a double stripe, a sleeve-only placement or a full matching set.
Your branding, your labels
the repeat wordmark, the chest stripe colour and the woven and printed labels are all produced to the buyer's artwork, with hangtags and packaging specification handled in the same programme.
Sample development and bulk planning
What the first sample round confirms
The first sample round should confirm stripe height and placement at the chest and at the sleeve, stripe alignment across the armhole and side seam, the repeat pitch and density of the embroidered wordmark, colour fastness of the contrast stripe after wash, and the rib height of the neck, cuffs and hem. Where the buyer supplies a logo, the repeat pitch should be agreed in millimetres against the finished stripe width before the embroidery file or the print screen is made.
Engineered around the fabric, not around a print
The stripe panel is the technical centre of this style. Because the band continues from the body onto the sleeve, the pattern has to be planned so that the stripe height matches at the armhole seam on both sides, and so that the band still lines up after grading. This is where most of the sample work sits: if the stripe drops on the sleeve relative to the chest, the whole design reads as a mistake rather than a feature. The second decision is how the brand name sits inside the band. A repeat embroidered wordmark gives a premium, slightly raised finish and works well on a 50/50 cotton-polyester looped knit, but it also adds cost and needs a stable backing so the lettering stays crisp across the run. A printed repeat band is faster to produce and cheaper at higher volumes, which makes it a useful option when a buyer wants the same look at a lower price point. The third is colour. The reference colourways pair a dark base with a light stripe, and the reverse also works. Because the stripe is a separate panel, the buyer can specify the base colour, the stripe colour and the wordmark colour independently, which gives a three-colour story from one block.
Best for
Activewear and lifestyle brands that want a crew neck with a visible graphic identity without relying on a printed chest graphic, labels building a retro or collegiate stripe direction, and private label programmes that want one block to carry several colour stories.
Private label development notes
- The stripe is the product: agree stripe height, base and contrast colours, and wordmark pitch before sampling.
- A repeat embroidered wordmark is the premium route; a printed repeat band is the volume route. Both can be quoted from the same pattern.
- Stripe alignment across the armhole and side seam is the main quality risk on this style and should be a defined inspection point.
- Three colourways can be built from one block by changing base colour, stripe colour and wordmark colour independently.
- Because the reference composition does not match a standard fixed fabric option, composition and any fabric tag should be confirmed against the final selected fabric.
Questions buyers ask before sampling
Can the construction be changed for our own design?
Yes. The pattern block, trims and branding method are all buyer-specifiable, and the approved content above lists the development options available for this style.
What is the minimum order quantity?
Depends on fabric, color, size range, customization and order structure.
How is sampling and bulk production scheduled?
Sample development depends on fabric availability, pattern work, branding method, fit adjustment and revision rounds. Bulk production is planned after sample approval and confirmation of fabric, trims, measurements, packaging and QC requirements.
